i really need to clean my house. did i mention ever how awesome my husband is? because he totally doesn't let me do much these days as far as cleaning/cooking/etc. (i'm sure the cooking one is mainly my fault). he's a concerned dad and it's adorable. cheesy as it is.
random, but i really want dessert from niche and popcorn from poptions.
i thought, for about 1 second, about a pregnancy/baby blog and then decided against it. who wants to read about round ligament pain, irrational fears and weird food aversions? i donít ever really blog anymore, but if i do i might mention it here or there, but it wonít take over...at least thatís not my intention. but, here is one story to share...
i had my first ultrasound this past week and the waiting room situation was one of the most ridiculous things ever. here are a few quotes from hour or so i was stuck surrounded by four hoosiers. but first, here's the set up: teenage daughter is pregnant by a guy no one likes, who didn't make it to the ultrasound because he didnít have gas money. 9 year old brother is also there along with adult mother and teenagerís friend (who is a dude chugging Monster energy drinks). They all work at McDonalds (except the 9 year old)
teenage daughter: "they got fired for doing it in the walk-in freezer"
mom: "maybe they were just being spontaneous"
son: "so mom, how many brothers and sisters do i have?"
mom: "well, about 6 brothers and 3 sisters, but youíll only know your one sister"
son: "well who else?"
mom starts naming names and when she says "and your sister Star", son freaks out
son: "i have a sister named star?"
mom: 'yeah, your dad and crackhead tammy named their baby star, idiots"
then, daughter calls boyfriend from her momís cell phone and pisses him off purposely by asking why he isnít at the hospital with her, she hangs up and says heíll probably call back because he told her he loved her and all she said was thanks. 2 seconds later, her cell rings with the most awesome ringtone ever - as this was happening, she turned up the ringer and bascially held the phone out so the whole waiting room could know it was her phone and see how hilarious she was...
"what, it's just my babyís daddy...who, it's just my babyís daddy...huh, it's just my baby's daddy"
she answers the phone and says "i love you" (all while mom is yelling into the phone "no she donít, she's lying, she don't love you"). then a 10 minute conversation took place about how heís be in jail the whole time the baby will be alive anyway, so it'd all work out.
i was dying to have my name called and get out of the waiting room, but more importantly i wanted to see the baby and hear the heartbeat, which all was AWESOME!
then, i heard this conversation start...."so, is ronald mcdonald black or white?"
i can't even remember what happened after that, but it was nuts. it just amazes me that people think these are appropriate things to talk about loudly, especially with a young kid in the room. they spoke so loud and often looked around to make sure people were listening, it was just totally out of my realm of how people act in public.
it was probably a lot more ridiculous if you were there, but i was just floored....
i guess i don't get out much these days
